Oakland sends:
MI: Franklin Barreto MI: Isan Diaz Oakland 12th round pick
in exchange
Minnesota sends:
RP: Chad Green, NYY; 2018: 0.5M; 2019: 0.5M; 2020: 0.5M; 2021: 0.5M RP: Seranthony Dominguez, PHI; 2018: 0M; 2019: 0.5M; 2020: 0.5M; 2021: 0.5M; 2022: 0.5M
Oakland confirms. Continuing to build a bullpen by using some of my prospect depth to fill in a real hole on my team. Love Green and Dominguez, and think they will hold value over the next couple of years as my team matures. Hate to lose Barreto and Diaz, but have plenty of MIs behind them in the minors system. 12th rounder was a throw-in to get the deal done. Good talks with Henry, we went through many possibilities before landing here. I think he gets the best talent here, but I get a couple more elite bullpen arms with plenty of cheap years to come.

Minnesota agrees. Great chats with Brendan, we are clearly on a similar wavelength when valuing players. Definitely a risky move for me to trade two bullpen studs to a competitor, and it does increase the chances of being overtaken by Brendan. However, I've always tried to do whatever is best for my team in the long term, and whilst the two relievers are going to be valuable for a while (particularly Dominguez who is up there with the best handful of relievers in the league so far), Barreto is very exciting (even with his 4K game last night) and Diaz also has a lot of upside. I also am happy with my remaining bullpen depth for the future. Fingers crossed this one doesn't bite me in the ass!
