Boston Padres trade: Travis Shaw 3B MIL 18: 500K, 19: 1M, 20: 2M, 21: 3M 2019 8th round MILB pick
to STL Orioles for: Prospects Carson Kelly (STL), Chris Shaw (SF), Mike Shawaryn (BOS), and Zac Lowther (BAL)
Reasoning: As many of you know, I am looking to acquire a couple extra bats. Tripp and I often have similar views on prospects or similar guys that we like, so our discussions are often lengthy! We finally came to this. I acquire a bat that can help me in 5 categories and maybe even pitch in a couple steals. Tripp gets one of the top catching prospects and several prospects with nice upside. If I thought Kelly could make an impact this year, I would not have made the deal, but we both agree that it may take time for him to really get playing time. Great back and forth with Tripp to get this one done.

Agreed. This was drawn out over probably the last week. The talks were very productive and reasonable as always with drew. He approached me on Shaw and after looking at the composition of my roster and depth at 3B, I decided to engage.
I’m happy to get a close to the majors catcher, especially in a two catcher league, they are extremely valuable. Chris Shaw (no relation to Travis) is a young bopper that could be in SF getting at bats any day now. Shawaryn is a nice high K guy and Could be up soon. Lowther is a bit further away but performed well in his debut.
Fun deal to put together.

Co-commish approved. Processing on Fantrax. Make sure to update your ProBoards roster page (Drew make sure to notate your 2019 draft pick acquisition on your page as well).
