Hey guys, bonehead move of the league so far. Your Commish had Cubs 3B Jeimer Candelario slated as one of my 25 Cubs keepers and somehow failed to list him. Of course I didn't realize this until Philly Astros selected him in the draft last night. I honestly thought the kid was already on my squad and I wasn't even looking at it otherwise.
This was an honest mistake and when I applauded Paul this morning for picking him on my oversight he actually responded thinking it was probably an oversight on my part. Then he offered him to me and said he wouldn't be upset or bummed. Class move!
We wanted to put this out on the board so the league knew what was going on. I believe Paul is going to respond here. Hey Paul, I'll consider this a nice little holiday gift. Thanks my friend!

Agreed. I'd hope we'd all do the same for each other.

Agreed, I think all of us probably forgot one or two. Which reminds me....... ;-)

Hahaa true. Candalerio was pretty obvious though.

I made this list right after Franchise Selection. The dot next to his name in two columns meant he was one of my definite keepers. And I STILL somehow managed to forget to list him on my Minors keepers post, which is why he wasn't added on Fantrax. Attachments:

So are you dropping someone then? I think you would have kept 26 cubs prospects otherwise. Also, did you really need to do this? Can TB take back Jake Bauers, who is probably 2x the prospect Candalerio is?

Regarding Candelario, when I realized my oversight and mentioned it to Paul, he totally understood. Having said that I asked him to "trade" him to me so it wouldn't be considered something like a 26th Cubs minors keeper like you're suggesting and I'd give him my very next pick in return. At that time a few days ago he preferred to just do what we did. But for the integrity of the league I'd prefer to make this Candelario deal a trade. Doesn't that seem how it should be done?
Regarding Bauers, pretty decent draft pick at this juncture. If TB wants him I'd certainly be open to discussing a trade.

Yea, I think it should really be a trade. But this raises other issues, Candelario needs to be re-selected in the draft instead of Omar Estevez (I think?). I don't know if you rewind the draft or what but people between that pick and whatever one you trade could have picked Estevez. I don't want him but he should be at least offered to the other teams? Doing stuff like this creates headaches.

Did Tampa Bay Rays honestly forget to add Bauers as a prospect? If not, then it is fair game. The purpose of asking Scott if he wanted Candelario back is because I felt it was a true oversight on Scott's part. This isn't about who gets a good prospect, it is about who honestly made a mistake/oversight/etc.

Right but my point is that it's not up to you to just give out prospects for any reason. It may have been an ovesigh but he still had 25 guys already selected.

I'll move Candelario back to Philly for the time being until this is sorted out. Doesn't affect any of my picks. Would only affect the player he picked up instead - Cody Ponce.

This issue is resolved. Candelario has been dropped from Chicago Cub Sox roster and moved back to Philadelphia Astros, who drafted him in Round 2.
Cody Ponce has been removed from Philly's roster as he was only added after he thought the 2nd round pick needed to be done again.
